For the latest Deep Thoughts from Damp Tresses, I read Allegiant by Veronica Roth (the third and final book in the Divergent trilogy). A whole is made up of individual parts. And while most of us prioritize being a certain thing (intelligent, kind, brave...), we can only reach our full potential when we accept all the parts of ourselves. The Divergent series is a story of what happens when people are only expected to be one thing and how that can cripple an entire society.

Yesterday BearAllen celebrated the 33rd anniversary of her arrival onto this big, spinning ball. I got two book-related gifts that I wanted to share with you! I recently had the pleasure of seeing the film adaptation of Divergent. First of all, I made the rookie mistake of re-reading the book RIGHT before I saw the movie. So the details were too fresh in my mind for a truly objective viewing of the movie. I really try hard to see a movie as a separate entity from the book.
