As I knew this was a life changing book, I wanted to be sure I read it when I had the time and energy to really concentrate on it. So I started reading it. In fact, I started reading it when I found out Marquez had passed away. And then I stopped. In the mad scramble to pick up in anticipation of company, I had put the book back up on the bookshelves

And the world loses another great. Gabriel Garcia Marquez has died at the age of 87 after a long illness.
In his honor, I will be putting down The Goldfinch for the time being and finally get around to reading One Hundred Years of Solitude.

Christmas Haul!
I hope you all had a very merry Christmas!
