Happy 176th Birthday, Mark Twain!
I went to Google earlier today and was met by today's art!
Little boy white-washing a fence immediately makes me think of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn (which happened to be thefirst two books I read for the Black, White & Read Book Challenge). So I wasn't too surprised when I hovered over the pic and saw that the artwork was in celebration of Mark Twain's 176th birthday! If you're interested in learning more about Mark Twain's life, I highly recommend picking up The Autobiography of Mark Twain, Volume 1. Countless books have been penned about the life and work of Samuel Clemens, however this is the version that was approved by the famous author himself, to be released upon the hundredth anniversary of his death. Volume 1, the first of three total, was released last year in time for the holiday shopping season. I purchased and gave my dad Volume 1 for Christmas last year and am eagerly awaiting the subsequent volumes (and plan on borrowing them from him myself as soon as this challenge is done).
