Husband just brought it to my attention that a portion of my brain apparently has dissolved, and as a result, I have not been posting introductions to the books as I begin them. I guess I'm expecting some use of psychic powers on your part, dear readers. And you have failed me. Tsk tsk.
As I mentioned in the "Reading IS sexy" post, I'm currently reading Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes. Although it's a funny, clever story... I'm having a hard time concentrating on it. It's not necessarily the language or the writing... I think my brain decided to leave for Europe about 2 weeks ahead of schedule. My two book clubs probably also didn't help matters much.
I vow to you that I will finish Don Quixote before I leave for my trip (one week from today, homies!). All I know is that I REALLY don't want to be stuck reading this book while I'm on my cruise. My awesome friend Jen lent me her copy of 11/22/63 by Stephen King... and I've already earmarked it as my airplane book. Here's a little secret: I'm not a huge fan of flying. I do it because I refuse to miss out on experiences because of my irrational fear... but I need something that will effectively take my mind off the fact that I'm being held up thousands of miles above the Atlantic ocean by... air. I believe Stephen King can succeed where Cervantes would most certainly fail.
