Dad is Fat by Jim Gaffigan

Dad is Fat by Jim Gaffigan.jpg
I love Hot PocketsĀ®, I love bacon... and I'm chubby and pale. So you know that Jim Gaffigan is my kind of comedian. Husband and I actually have had the pleasure of seeing him open for Lewis Black a few years before he became famous. And when we're watching some of Gaffigan's comedy and I say "I really want to see him live", Husband has to remind me that we have. I've never smoked weed... not sure why I'm so burnt.

Annnnnnyway...

Dad is Fat, narrated by Jim Gaffigan, was a fun audiobook to deal with commutes. As a parent myself, I found his tales of fatherhood amusing, although overwhelming because THE MAN HAS FIVE CHILDREN! So, he clearly insane. My people!

Synopsis:

In Dad is Fat, stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan, who’s best known for his legendary riffs on Hot Pockets, bacon, manatees, and McDonald's, expresses all the joys and horrors of life with five young children—everything from cousins ("celebrities for little kids") to toddlers’ communication skills (ā€œthey always sound like they have traveled by horseback for hours to deliver important newsā€), to the eating habits of four year olds (ā€œthere is no difference between a four year old eating a taco and throwing a taco on the floorā€). Reminiscent of Bill Cosby’sFatherhood, Dad is Fat is sharply observed, explosively funny, and a cry for help from a man who has realized he and his wife are outnumbered in their own home.
