The first author that is mentioned in all of Gilmore-dom is Jack Kerouac. Prolific beat writer, Jack Kerouac traveled the country, writing about the people he encountered and the various cultures found throughout this great nation of ours. When Mr. Kerouac is mentioned, one always thinks of his most renowned book On the Road, therefore, that is the book I have chosen to read as my first! I think it is incredibly fitting that the first book on this journey is a book ABOUT journeys... so poetic (your eyes may roll now)!
